Baby Goats!

Well today was an interesting day, we were doing the normal everyday attempt to clean up and do schoolwork lol. Mom was loading the dish washer and I was sweeping, then all of a sudden mom yells "BABY GOAT!" of course that is like a battle cry for me. So I dropped the broom and ran across the house and out the door in my slippers. when I get out to the porch all I could see was one black leg and a nose sticking out I thought "oh great" and plopped down on my knees behind her and went to find out were the other leg was. I ended up having to push baby back a little bit to get his other leg because he had it sorta scrunched up but after that he came nice and easy. In just the time it took to get his mouth clear and him wrapped in a towel, the next baby stared to come. Fortunately this one was positioned just right, two legs forward and a nose on top, so that was good. I will get pictures up asap but since my computer will be AWAL for a few more weeks I'll have to get them on my mom's computer and I hate sitting down here in the basement so that might be a while lol. I almost forgot, baby #1 is a solid black buck named Darth Vader, and baby #2 is a solid red buck with one tiny tan spot next to his tail named Han Solo.

This is my cat Tiger, he's going to 10 years old this May. I can't hardly believe its been that long since my grandpa gave him to me. He seems to have a sense of humor cause he lets me put glasses, hats, and ribbons on him. lol He's started to act a bit old lately, he's been going up and down the stairs slower than normal, normal being bolting up them super fast lol.

Final Days

This is a poem about the last days of Jesus that I wrote in February of last year, since Easter is coming up i thought you guys might like to read it. enjoy.

Final Days:
I pray in a garden
My closest friends are with me
They are sleeping,
They don’t realize what’s to happen
Suddenly I hear it, voices, noise
I see their lights
I wake my friends
The group comes nearer, I see their leader
Again friend, or so I thought
I knew this would happen
He comes to me, kisses my cheek, looks at me and backs away
Betrayed by one of twelve
It had to happen, as the prophets said
The Eleven begin to fight, I tell them no
I say I must go, that it must happen
They take me to the town
When morning comes the crowds are great
They shout at the solders, and at their leader
I say not a word when he speaks to me
He asks but I do not answer
I stand before the crowd, they shout crucify, crucify, as I stand as silent as a lamb
They take me away, they torture me
When I can barely stand they put a cross upon my back
They yell at me, telling me to go
I stager along, then I fall, it seems as though I can’t go on
The solders find a man in the crowd; they make him carry my cross
I stagger up, the cruel whip lashing my back, I continue on
I near the hill, the place of the skull
They knock me down; splinters dig into my torn flesh
With huge spikes they nail me down
I hang here, moaning in pain
I cry to my father, to forgive them for what they are doing
To my right and my left hang two men, one mocks me like the others
The other, says no we deserve this he has done no wrong
I turn to him and say today you will be with me in paradise
I tell my closest friend, the one who stuck by me though it all, take care of my mother
With a final groan I let go of this world, I give up my spirit
I look down on the scene from above, the sky is dark,
From where I am I see why, demons cloud the air but only I can see them
They think they have won, but they have lost
I stay in my home for a while, three days of their time, then I return
I come out of the tomb were they laid my body, an angel moved the stone for me
I hear a woman coming, I hide, my angel talks with her, he sends her to go to get the eleven
I talk to them and eat with them to show that I am real; I stay with them for forty of their days
Then I tell them I must go but I will come again, and while I'm away I will build them a home
I say goodbye, promising that I will come again even though I do not know the time or the place
I ascend, going through clouds that hide me from view
My Father welcomes me home
Again I stay for a while, my Father says soon I will return but not yet.

Easter!

Well since Easter is coming up soon I thought I would tell you all about my church’s third annual Easter walk that we’re going to be having in a few weeks. It’s a live, outdoor walk through play that tells about the last days of Jesus. It takes about 45 minutes to go through and we have ‘’stations’’ that include everything from Llamas and donkeys to goats and kids (My babies!J), and Samaritans and Pharisees to Roman soldiers on horseback. Visitors are put in groups usually no bigger than 15 people that leave every 15 minutes and are led through the walk by two disciples named James and Simon (I think) who are looking for Jesus, as they talk about the parables and the miracles that Jesus performed. The first station you visit is the parable about the seeds that are dropped on different types of ground. The farmer and his sons tell the story and the disciples ask questions. After they finish the story you move on to the next station up the path aways to “The Good Samaritan”, he tell you the story from his point of view. The next station is the miracles station, were we hear about the girl that was raised from the dead, the blind men that were made to see, and the demon possessed girl who was healed. The next station is what we call “a play within a play”, here we see the Pharisees who have brought a harlot woman before Jesus and are trying to trick him by asking what they should do with her (my brothers are at this stationJ). After this you go down the path and the disciples point out the palm branches on the path that are left from when Jesus made his entry into the city a few days before. Then you see Peter with the servant girls asking questions outside the city gates and he comes over to talk to the disciples. After the rooster crows and Peter runs off crying, the group continues on past some crabby guards into the city. There you’ll find people telling that there is going to be a crucifixion and all types of things for sale and to eat such as cheese, bread, nuts, fish, cider, chickens, goats (Say hi to me!J), ducks, little children that won’t hush, cloth, and many other things. As you make you way to the end of town, the Roman soldiers start yelling and shouting and dragging Jesus through the city. About halfway through they pick out a random person from the crowd to carry the cross for Jesus. Really it’s not a random person, it’s one of our youth boys who mingles with the crowd, so don’t worry they won’t grab you. While they’re bringing him through a few of us are yelling for them to let Him go, while the rest are yelling for him to be crucified. Please don’t get mad at us we’re only acting, we don’t really mean what were saying. We’ve had people get really ticked at us in this part. After the soldiers exit the city you hear them “nailing” Him to the cross (hammers pinging). Once the noise stops, the town freezes and you hear our “town crier” mark of each of the three days, then everything starts again and we tell how we can’t believe it’s been three days already. Then you head out with the disciples, down the hill a bit and John comes running toward you telling that the tomb is empty. Then he runs off to tell the others and Simon and James take you to see the empty tomb. Then Pastor Ben steps out from behind a tree and talks for about two minutes (don’t expect that on Sunday morning though lol) about what you’ve seen and tells you how you can be saved.

I hope you enjoyed reading about it and I hope to see you there.

Baby Watch Begins

This next week we have a two year old doe who is due to kid, her name is Zippora or Zippi. She is 1/2 Nubian and 1/2 Boer. Zippi looks just like a Boer with her red head and white body, but her frame is like her mama Annie, with thin legs and a dainty head and of course those lovely, long, lop, ears. She was a triplet with two sisters Naomi and Ruth. Ruth, sadly, had to be put down last year not to long after her first birthday.
I'm hoping for two little girls with brown and gray coloring like their dad. But I'll be happy with whatever we get, what I really want though is to not have a night like the one I had last year with Zippi's mom. I was up from about 1:30ish am to 3:30ish am, first their was one trying to come out crooked and butt first, then another butt first, and then finally some feet (back feet but still feet). Did I mention I was a total mess after this? It would be nice to have an easy birthing season but who am I kidding (haha) that's only in my dreams.

Oh I almost forgot, here is a picture of Ms. Zippi.
On Monday I was watching Rachel, Sarah-Beth, and Daniel. We were all sick of being in the house so even thought it was cold we went outside. I decided that since it had been quite a while since we had taken the girls out for a walk I let the 6 does out and they followed us down the driveway. When we got to the hay barn, about half way down, we saw Mom and John coming back from taking dad to the airport (off to Holland). Mom stopped, and John joined us for our walk. First we went down to the dead end of our road and since the girls were behaving very well we decide that it would be ok to go the other way. We went about a half a mile up the road and stopped to look at the newborn calves in the neighbors field. I decided that was far enough so we went on back and it was a good thing to because by the time we had walked back to the driveway the yearling does decided to try grazing the neighbors yard lol that meant it was time to go home.
Sarah-Beth took charge of the yearlings, they seem to like following her.
